I migrated to the US with my family over a decade ago, driven by two aspirations: to provide my loved ones with a better life, and to one day become a successful entrepreneur. I was born and raised in Mexico and have been working hard for almost 20 years to achieve those goals. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship to attend a prestigious university in my local area, and worked hard to stand out. While in college, I worked as a warehouse helper, where I operated a forklift and manually loaded 100-pound bags of cement into pickups. My hard work paid off when I was promoted to warehouse supervisor, followed by a role as a salesman. After I graduated from college, I went on to become the general manager of a building materials store, and later, to manage a group of 16 stores, overseeing more than 100 employees and $30M in revenue. My academic achievements and professional background helped me obtain a scholarship to the University of Chicago and eventually migrate to the US. I was privileged to work with some of the world's best companies, including PwC and BCG, and learn business management from world-class mentors and leaders. After years of hard work and preparation, I am now ready to succeed a great business founder, and build on his or her legacy.
