Who GTE is looking for:

We are looking for top MBA graduates or experienced business managers who are entrepreneurial and highly motivated to acquire and run a lower middle market private business. Searchers at GTE are natural leaders who enjoy leading an organization and making decisions that matter. You will work closely with your respective MBA Search Managers and undergraduate intern teams to evaluate deals and generate leads. You will be expected to collaborate with your fellow searchers and the GTE management team to formulate initiatives to move GTE forward. You will also be responsible for leading your team through investment origination, prospective company outreach and deal closing with the support of GTE and our advisory board.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and proactively expand hundreds of relationships with business professionals, including business intermediaries, deal professionals, business owners, lawyers, and accountants

  • Manage weekly outreach campaigns to hundreds of business professionals

  • Lead and coach your team of MBA Search Managers and undergraduate interns

  • Develop strategic three to five-year business plans for potential acquisition targets

  • Take initiatives to create new search methodologies and improve the current best practices

  • Perform quality control for your intern team-generated reports, financial modeling, outreach campaigns and leads

  • Track team’s performance and conduct weekly meetings

  • Lead due diligence in order to close on seven-figure business acquisitions

  • Generate leads and evaluate potential deals

  • Train and onboard new team members, including undergraduate and MBA interns and OIRs

  • Head company development teams


Key Job Requirements:

  • Top MBA graduate and/or experienced business manager

  • Ability and desire to create a supportive entrepreneurial platform

  • Capable of maintaining and fostering a collaborative company culture and learning environment

  • Extensive knowledge of search funds and Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition

  • Passionate about entrepreneurship and determined to run a lower middle-market private business

  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

  • Multiple years of prior work experience in a management role

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and relationship building skills

  • Willingness to participate in all aspects of strategic engagement planning initiatives

  • Financial analysis and modeling skills, with a strong understanding of financials and leveraged buyouts
