About GT Entrepreneurs

Founded in 2017, GT Entrepreneurs (GTE) is a private investment firm that leverages its vast search fund and executive-level expertise to help procure highly favorable outcomes for today's most talented aspiring CEOs. We primarily look to partner with traditional searchers during their initial capital raise, and we also provide gap investment capital to both traditional and self-funded searchers alike.

Who GTE is looking for:

We are looking for current MBA students (or recent MBA program graduates) who are knowledgeable about search funds and entrepreneurship-through-acquisition (ETA) and are serious about pursuing this path in the near future. As a GTE MBA CxO Intern, you will learn what it's like to manage and grow a company by working side-by-side with one of our portfolio company Presidents/CEOs. This internship opportunity will give you a glimpse into what it's like to be at the helm of a small privately held business and what it's like to experience all the ups and downs that come along with being a business owner. It is our intention that you leave this experience much more confident and prepared to go out and acquire and run your own business sometime shortly after the conclusion of the internship period.

Internship at a glance

  • WORK: Work inside one of our portfolio companies so that you can see what it's really like to own and manage a small privately-owned business.
  • EDUCATION: Attend periodic educational seminars that are geared towards helping you learn how to search, acquire, manage, and exit a business.
  • GUEST SPEAKERS: Learn from industry experts that can give you the insights to feel more confident in your eventual search journey.

Example Job Responsibilities

  • Creating actionable plans that work towards achieving portfolio company President/CEO's current growth strategies and objectives
  • Identify potential new and more relevant growth opportunities for the portfolio company when possible
  • Research and become knowledgeable about the portfolio company's industry and local market
  • Familiarize yourself with the day-to-day operations so that you can pinpoint any deficiencies and propose new and better ways to carry out tasks and responsibilities.

Key Job Requirements

  • Students currently enrolled in a top-tier MBA program (or recent graduates)
  • Ideally 5+ years experience managing individuals and teams
  • Extensive knowledge of search funds and entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA)
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Highly detail-oriented, strong sense of accountability and capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be assertive
  • Excellent relationship building and ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with management and executive presence
  • Ability to participate in all aspects of strategic engagement planning initiatives
  • Exceptional financial analysis and modeling skills, with a strong understanding of financial statements and common valuation techniques
