Fall Intern Cohort

GTE recruits from some of the top MBA and Bachelors programs in the staffing of the search teams. Search teams are tasked by their leading Operator-In-Residence (OIR) to identify and research potential acquisition targets or deal partnerships. Each team is led by an MBA Search Manager.

Muhammad is a recent graduate from Penn State University, earning Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics on May 2017. In 2016, Muhammad interned in EY for its International Tax Services, serving Financial Services Companies. During his time at Penn State, Muhammad took valuation courses and he was involved in extracurricular activities. Muhammad wrote articles regarding Fixed Income Market and Emerging Market as well as participated in CME Trading Challenge during his time at Penn State. Muhammad was also a Treasurer for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club during his times at Penn State Altoona. His experiences throughout college have made him interested to pursue a career in Private Equity. Muhammad will be interning at GTE this fall.

Ni Li is an MSc Applied Analytics student at Columbia University with internship experience in private equity, investment bank as well as commercial bank and he is passionate about indulging himself in following the market and current events. As a proactive and motivated youngster, Ni Li is making efforts to connecting with more professionals, learning about financial industry and trying to develop his own insights of the market. Confident and humble, he is pursuing his interests in the field of financial services.

Robert has nearly 10 years business and accounting experience. He holds an MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. He has an extensive business background with prior roles in tax, audit, and business brokerage. He has been exposed to a wide variety of businesses and industries and he brings a unique combination of perspective and experience.

Hyung Min is currently studying Mathematics at the University of Florida. He is majorly interested in finance, economics, and business. He likes to analyze everything using his mathematics background. Responsible for what is given and passionate about what will be given.

Hyung min Park

Ryan is currently a senior receiving a BS in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh College of Business Administration. He hopes to stay in the Private Equity or Investment Banking industry upon graduation in December. He currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pa while attending school, but Bethlehem, Pa has been home for 16 years.

Ryan Skae

Alex is a senior economics major at the University of Pittsburgh from Washington D.C., and has prior experience in management roles. He is currently the President of the Global Business Brigades and recently traveled to Honduras to act as a microfinance consultant promoting business sustainability with the organization. His next goal is to earn a master's degree in finance and to become a business leader in the financial industry. While at GTE he is excited to gain further insight into financial modeling, analytics, and venture capital.

Originally from Massachusetts, Brian is a second-year student at the University of Pittsburgh where he is pursuing an Economics/Business Dual Major degree as well as a certificate in Leadership. During his first-year in Pittsburgh, Brian worked as an intern for Walnut Capital as a member of their marketing team where he helped to create awareness, attention, and referrals in order to grow the customer base. Brian is also the Vice-President of Finance for the University of Pittsburgh's Collegiate DECA which he hopes to grow into one of the school's preeminent business organizations. Brian has sought after internships in various different facets of business in order to prepare himself for his ultimate aspiration of being a leader in the business world. He is beyond excited to join the GTE team and looks forward to the opportunity to hone his financial acumen as an Associate Intern this fall.

Sunny is a second year undergraduate student at the Tepper School of Business where he is currently pursuing a major in computational finance . In his first year, Sunny joined the Tartan Student Fund, a student led investment club. He worked to analyze income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements to understand the financials of potential investments. In addition, Sunny has experience approaching and interacting with established businesses in the context of an acquisition.

David is currently pursuing a dual degree in finance and machine learning from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. Aside from classes he works in the school’s student-led asset management group called the Tartan Student Fund as an assistant portfolio manager for the consumer retail group. In the past, David has worked as a research intern at TransMarket Group, where he was first exposed to quantitative finance, and later received a grant from NASA to conduct his own research concerning hedge fund fee structures and their impacts on a hedge fund’s risk tolerance.

David is currently pursuing a dual degree in finance and machine learning from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. Camila graduated of Universidad Catolica de Chile, faculty of Business and Economics with a degree in business administration. She worked in ILC, chilean holding company with presence in the financial and healthcare sectors. There she served as a financial analyst and investor relations until she moved to Pittsburgh in August of this year. She entered into GTE internship in order to continue developing her analytical skills and learn from the working culture of the US. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, traveling and learning about different cultures and cooking.

Trevor is a current fulltime student at the University of Pittsburgh, pursuing a double major in Economics & Political Science. He is a founding member of Pitt’s Career Development Society, and currently holds the executive board position of treasurer. He is also a revitalization member of the Stock Trading Pitt, a club dedicated to the study of public markets and the trading of financial securities. Trevor is a retail investor, primarily focusing on technology, biotechnology, and healthcare markets. Trevor is from Murrieta, California and has moved to Pittsburgh to pursue his educational opportunities.

Trevor is a current fulltime student at the University of Pittsburgh, pursuing a double major in Economics & Political Science. He is very passionate about grappling and competes on a state and regional level in Judo tournaments. He is hoping to go to either law school or investment banking after graduation.

He aspire to work in the finance or tech industry after graduation. His hobbies and interests include swimming, running, playing poker, investing in/watching the stock market, mathematics, economic research, and teaching. He is incredibly excited to learn more about building financial models, company acquisition and private equity in general!

While there he was tasked with building company level data across a world-class global private equity portfolio (venture, growth, and buyout) totaling $750 million. He has a strong interest in commodities futures and is currently studying for the Series 7 and is a CFA Level One Candidate.

Tiantian is currently a senior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Mathematics and minoring in German Language. She was exchanged at the National University of Singapore during the 2017 Spring semester. Before coming to the US, Tiantian went to Xiamen University in China and studied Economics for two years.

Roman has two bachelor degrees from Masaryk University and Juniata College in addition to his Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting with focus on capital markets received from Masaryk University in Czech Republic. He finished his studies in 4 years compared to standard length of 5-6 years with 195 credits and stock brokerage internship. Roman came to United States two years ago and is originally from Czech Republic. His native language is Czech, but he is fluent in Slovak and English. In addition to that he is proficient in German and Spanish.

Liam is a sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University in the Tepper School of Business. At CMU, he serves as the Director of Finance for Moneythink, Corporate Relations Chair for Alpha Kappa Psi, and an attorney for the Mock Trial team.

Viknesh is a junior business student at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently pursuing a double major in Finance and Global Management, along with a minor in economics. He has previous experience as an intern for a financial services company in Hong Kong and China, as well as a stock transfer agency in New York. Viknesh’s interests are data analytics and financial consulting.

Anthony joined GTE in October 2017 as an Associate Intern: his responsibilities include researching/screening companies as potential acquisitions with regard to well-defined criteria; model and value selected targets; and, provide valuable information to his team's Operator-In-Residence.   Previously, Anthony worked at PNC and is a recent graduate of Penn State University where he obtained degrees in finance, economics, and unofficially accounting.    He is an avid learner and continuously seeks self-improvement, which he does by pursuing his ambitions, nourishing his intellectual curiosity, developing new skills, and pushing his abilities to the limit.  Anthony is an arduous fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penn State football.  In the Spring of 2017, while attending Penn State, Anthony had the honor of participating in THON as a dancer.

Anthony is an arduous fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penn State football.  In the Spring of 2017, while attending Penn State, Anthony had the honor of participating in THON as a dancer.
