Welcome to the first Generational Transfer Entrepreneurs (GTE) blog post. GTE seeks to work with business owners to transition their businesses to the next generation of entrepreneurs. GTE is a Pittsburgh-based, pledged capital firm that works with Operators-in-Residence (OIR) to search for, acquire, and operate lower-middle market companies. As a team of business leaders, we understand the importance of preserving a business’s legacy, and we are eager to successfully lead companies into the future.
GTE grows businesses in order to expand the number of local job opportunities. “We want to create a continuous process that places entrepreneurs in leadership positions with small businesses that are being sold so that the company’s legacy and employees’ jobs are secured going into the future,” said Jamie Van Buren, president and founder of GTE.
GTE uses a platform, run by Head of Operations David Kestenberg, to work with future owners to identify and acquire companies that fit the unique skillsets and strengths of each OIR. The first cohort of OIRs is comprised of Tom Fernan, Brenden Van Buren, and Gabriel Chick. Tom successfully owned and operated RAK Associates, a software and IT services company. Brenden holds an MBA with honors from the Tepper School of Business and previously worked as a project manager in the construction industry. Gabriel holds an MBA from the Tepper School of Business and was previously an artillery officer in the United States Army. As a team of business leaders, GTE understands the importance of preserving a business’s legacy and is eager to successfully lead companies into the future.
We are excited to partner with business owners who are ready to transition their companies into the future. Please feel free to Contact Us with any additional questions.
